Katie Lund

My name is Katie Lund. I am a sophomore at Stanford University majoring in Bioengineering. I'm originally from Riverside, Connecticut, and am an avid skier and sailor. In fact, I was a member of the Stanford Varsity Sailing team my freshman year here but eventually had to face the difficult realization that bioengineering does not coincide well with other time consuming activities. This fall, I joined the mountain biking team to try something new that I always had been fascinated by. this decision is what led to my discovery of FACE AIDS and the Ride Against AIDS.

I believe the world gives us gifts that take many forms from a mountain as the world's largest jungle gym to the opportunity to help others and spread knowledge. Bringing the two together is something truly special. That is my goal for the Ride. To see America from a new perspective and to provide the spark that sets off a chain reaction across the country.
