Be in the Know

Do you know your status? Get tested for HIV and Be In The Know!

When: Now through May 2011.

What: 6,000 students tested for HIV

How: FACE AIDS chapters and other student leaders bring the Be In The Know campaign to their campus and inspire their peers to get tested for HIV.

Why: As passionate young leaders, we will not stand for the fact that young people account for a quarter of new HIV infections in the United States every year. Furthermore, one in five people living with HIV in the United States don't know their status. We know that students can stand together, get tested for HIV and turn the tide of the epidemic in the United States. We are also getting tested to stand in meaningful solidarity with those in the United States and around the world who are living with HIV every day. By getting tested, we are saying that we will not be turned away by stigma against HIV, and we will continue to fight the misconceptions that people hold.
